Educador Nota 10 Prize

The Educador Nota 10 Prize was created in 1998 by the Fundação Victor Civita. It recognizes and values teachers from kindergarten to high school in public and private schools across the country.

In 2023, the Award announces news for its 25th edition: it is now structured by the SOMOS Institute, a non-profit organization maintained by SOMOS Educação, one of the largest basic education organizations in Brazil. It is supported by the media partnership of Abril, Globo and Fundação Roberto Marinho, sponsored by BDO Brazil, and supported by Nova Escola, Instituto Rodrigo Mendes and Unicef. Since 2018, the Educador Nota 10 Award has been associated with the Global Teacher Prize, carried out by the Varkey Foundation, a global education award.

With more than 77 thousand projects received over the last 24 editions, 261 educators were awarded, including teachers and school administrators, who received approximately R $ 2.6 million.

Until the 2021-2022 edition, the Selection Academy, composed of Education professionals, specialists in the various disciplines, analyzed all the projects received and among them, they chose 50 finalists. The 10 winners – Educadores Nota 10 – were then selected by the same Selection Academy. At the end of the process, a Judging Academy chose the Educator of the Year.

The award-winning projects are simple and courageous ideas that reinforce the importance of the learning experience for children, teenagers and adults. The task of keeping them in a good school is an indispensable work for the transformation of this country into a better and more just nation.
