Victor Civita Neto

Council Chairman

After the death of his father, Roberto Civita, Victor Civita Neto took over as president Fundação Victor Civita, and embarked on a mission to continue contributing to the improvement of Brazilian Education. In 1989, he graduated with a degree in Political Science from Columbia University. In 1990, he joined Grupo Abril as Director of Programming and Production at MTV, responsible for implementing the TV station in Brazil. From 1992 to 2002, he was also Director of Programming and Production at TVA and Vice President of Editora Abril’s Youth Division. From 2005 to 2010, he served as Vice President of Digital Initiatives for Grupo Abril. His endeavors include The Music of Brazil series and launching Grupo Abril’s e-commerce projects. Victor Civita Neto was the President of the Editorial Committee at Editora Abril.
Giancarlo Civita

Giancarlo joined Abril in 1982 as a trainee in the Printing Department. From 1990 onwards, he served successively as Program Director of TVA, Chief Executive of MTV, Vice President of the Thematic Division, Vice President of the Entertainment Division and Vice President of the Youth Division. In February 2003, he left the Group’s executive routine to become Vice President of Abril’s Board of Directors and, at the same time, set up his own company. In 2006, he resumed Abril activities and became Executive Vice President. He became CEO of Grupo Abril in March 2007 and Vice Chairman of Abrilpar in September 2001. He has a degree in Social Communication from The Superior School of Advertising and Marketing (ESPM) and a postgraduate degree in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
Roberta Anamaria Civita

Holding a degree in Psychology from Brown University, U.S.A., she is highly committed to initiatives that improve Brazil’s Educational system.
Thomaz Souto Correa

Thomaz got his start in journalism in September 1957 at the editorial office of the O Estado de São Paulo newspaper. In 1963, he joined Editora Abril, where he became Executive Vice President and Chief Editor. In 2003, he became Vice President of the Editorial Committee and an Editorial Consultant. He served two terms as president of ANER – The Brazilian Society of Magazine Editors (1992-1994 and 1994-1996), and is currently a member of the Board of Directors.
He was the first Latin American Chairman of the Fédération Internationale de la Presse Périodique (FIPP) Board of Directors, which brings magazine editors from around the world together, and a member of the Advisory Committee and of the Board. Since 2003, he has been a consultant to the Innovation International Media Consulting Group.
In April 2018, he joined the Association Council of The Superior School of Advertising and Marketing of São Paulo. He became counselor of Fundação Victor Civita in 2018.
